Leslie Shor

Leslie McCabe Shor is a Research Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University, where she was a recipient of a 3-year NIH Biotechnology Training fellowship, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in Environmental Sciences and Chemistry.

Leslie's research expertise is interactions of microbes within micro-structured habitats, and fate and transport of organic contaminants in soil and sediment. She recently received her first grant from the National Science Foundation to develop micro-structured microbial habitat arrays using microfluidic devices. She is the faculty advisor of the Vanderbilt Society of Women Engineers, and is active in promoting enrollment and retention of women in engineering.
